When traveling via the open road, you get to experience the unexpected. We’re sharing another fun and memorable stop over at a Harvest Hosts location. There’s seriously good vibes at El Pais Motel and Campground. As of now, my hubby and I are traveling across the west. Our camping experiences cover state campgrounds, dispersed camping and Harvest Hosts stopovers.
Over a year ago, we intentionally shifted how we travel. Instead of air travel and hotels, we now travel with our Tab 400 Boondock RV. Dog kids included! Seriously, each traverse is a drive across and to interesting places. You see small towns, shop in local markets, stay in state parks, disperse camp deep into the woods and terrain. Along the way? Stopovers at a Harvest Hosts locations.
With Harvest Hosts, our one night stopovers on the open road continues to shine with unique and memorable experiences. This includes savoring diverse venues and meeting owners behind the venue.
The Vibes at El Pais Motel and Campground
Fast forward to the cool, artsy retro vibes at El Pais Motel and Campground in Tucson, Arizona offers. Driving up to the El Pais, it’s a step back into hip, vintage coolness. When the owner, Toni, greeted us at the gated entrance, her bold welcome set the stage for our next 18 – 24 hours. Parking is super easy with Toni’s coaching. With specific cuts and turns, our camper fit perfectly in a tidy space complete with an astroturf carpet and close by full hookups.
A vintage motel with campground amenities, there’s a special Harvest Hosts rate when booking with the Harvest Host app.
Time to put on the flip flops!
With it’s artsy, kitschy surroundings, you need a couple of walk-by’s to really appreciate the unique art. Retro campers, antique cars, funky motel decor all rock colorful motifs that just pull you in to look a bit closer.
Motel and RV guests wander the quaint venue admiring unique art pieces, vintage cars and mid-century campers. A fire pit offers warmth and fun campfire conversations after a cooling, evening spring rain.
With early morning coffee and breakfast supplies on the patio, it’s a great way to start the day outside in Arizona’s sunshine.
And, of course, I took several moments both in the evening and early morning to photograph the unique eye treasures. The El Pais is a one-of-a-kind motel with energetic, colorful, charm.
Happy glamping and camping indeed!
