In photography, (business and in life), our intentions for the great shot sets the foundation. Yet, it’s the action of snapping the shutter and capturing the moment the creates the great shot.
This is true for all of us, in photography, business, friendships. We have good intentions. Having a goal is important. However, completing the goal reflects your ethic, who you are.
When you leave a meeting, a conversation, a school, a career, a photography shoot, one thing is for certain. The actions you took, the behaviors you demonstrated, the decisions you made live on. Your intentions do not.
As people, we make daily decisions. I’ve seen many hide behind decisions with bad intentions with the phrases of, “I never intended to” or “My position requires…” We’ve all been here and fall in to this group at one time or another.
To that I say, own your ‘badness.’ There’s always a choice in your actions. Even when you make hard decisions, it’s why and how you carried it through illustrates who you are.
The same is true for people with good intentions. There are those who are hesitant to take credit for their good, ethical and right decisions and actions – even when they’re tough. Own your ‘goodness.’ The integrity of your action and ethics lives on.
